hey i am curious if anyone knows if the gti cup edition 9n3 polo's body kit is available in australia

  • #2
Hmmm you can order it through a dealer, I heard it is about $5,000 by the time you fit and paint it.

There is no cheap option, there are cheaper copy ones out there, but shipping is expensive, might not fit properly.

I would have done it already if the price wasn't too bad

That's a replica kit though isn't it - it doesn't say it's OEM and its 'cup edition style'...I have found a way of getting the OEM kit for cheap...but I'm not sharing until it's painted and on my car =P

haha have you and your not sharing, i want one. I would be happy with just the front bumper

When you say cheap, im guessing it is still expensive, half the cost is fitting and painting i guess

well I've already sourced the side skirts and an oem front lip in Aus and they're in my garage waiting to be painted. I'll share the lip and how to get it cheap - VW Polo 04-06 front skirt bumper 6Q00716099AX genuine VW part GREY COLOUR | eBay

But the two bumpers are pretty difficult and it involves having a 30KG baggage limit and a return ticket to the UK - worked with my BBS Splits my friend (VDUBIN) who's painted his own car matte blue is doing the painting for me too - fitting will be easy now I've already installed the FMIC and taken the front off for that.

Yeah I know, but I've ordered it too - I've seen pictures of the two combined and it looks awesome.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I hope you nailed it.

Personally, if the picture is not of the actual item, it is likely not to fit. the listing you've posted is for the 9n, not the 9n3, so it may need some assistance to fit.

Side skirts should be based on the same chassis, so i'd expect they would be fine.

                      Good luck.

I've got the Cup Edition Kit installed on my car for a while now. It's definitely menacing but the costs as Troy mentioned, add up. Shipping is expensive, not to mention the customs tax you have to pay. Then the painting (you don't want a half-assed job) and then the fitting of course is absolutely paramount. My recommendation to others who want to go down this route, if you're going to do it, do it once, and do it right.

For me, it was worth it because I don't know anyone in Sydney who has it (yes, I feel special for now) but for those who know me, I like to modify cars but also keep the factory appearance. Nothing beats it!

Previously when those guys operated under 'vaglink', I emailed them about the free shipping deal and they said that it doesn't apply to body kit parts and only for other smaller parts.
