i believe BP Ultimate is the best option, ive used other fuels before and had bad experiences with dirty fuels, almost like ur running e10!
i know this is very different but with my commodore, when the air sensor got dirty it did this really bad, there are so many things it could be. probably wrong, just adding options,i know how annoying it is!

Yeah my 2009 is in for a service today, and the service adviser told me they would carry out the airbag check/fix. I haven't got a letter in the mail about it yet though.

I use Vortex 98 (the Caltex one). The shuddering is intermittent though, it just seems to come and go. Would the APR ECU flash have triggered it?

I've got an APR flash, use BP Ultimate Premium or whatever their 98 RON is and don't have shudder. How old and what plugs are you running ?

i have the judder issue too. it is occassional. engine never dies. i spoke to someone today and he said maybe it's the PCV??? it used to happen once or twice a month but has become a little more frequent of late - usually after a hard drive.

oh well.... just wait till it gets worse else it is difficult to diagnose.

btw, i have changed the PCV (the original unit had a part number that ended with the letter A and it leaked after getting the car chipped. the replacement unit has a part number that ends with B).

Picked up my car new April 07, and still running original plugs. The car's going in tomorrow to get the recall fix done, and they'll see what may be causing it too

Got my car back from its service yesterday arvo, but haven't had a chance to post till now. Here's what they had to say about my issues:

                          1. Head unit no longer recognizes mp3 CDs
                          2. Head unit backlight is dimmer than usual until physically tapped with finger

Head unit needs replacing, which will cost $1100 + labour (no thanks!)

                          3. Whole car shudders and vibrates (like been blown by a strong wind) when idling at a red light
Everything on VAGCOM checks out right, so they think it's most likely the spark plugs that are due for replacement in the next major 5 years service in the next few months.

                          4. Cup holder jams often, unless pulled out about 1cm further after extending it to get the mechanism to 'click' first
I thought about leaving it out and then letting them jam it break it momentarily haha, but then realised I'm not a dodgy guy and thought they'd probably tell me to buy a new one if I told them about it. Thus I didn't mention it to them.

                          5. Spring in driver seat seems to have snapped, creating a rattling noise within the seat
They couldn't quite find the source of the noise, so they just tightened what they could on the drivers seat. The noise is still there though. This is something I doubt they could fix though since it really does sound like its coming from within the upright, i.e. would involve removing the fabric to get to it.
