Just picking up some parts and got them to check if mine was affected by the coilpack recall.
My coilpacks are all good, but the 97W5 campaign is to check for faulty rear airbag electrics, which I need to get checked out.

Get them to have a look near the TX valve... Mine leaked there in the first week I had the car. The problem turned out to be a crushed seal caused when the car was built. As soon as pressure built up, it leaked past the seal. The dye won't be picked up, but the sniffer will. Unfortunately, this is a dash out fix.

Yup, my 2008 9N3 needs the airbag fix. I didn't actually get a letter about it, but the person whom I bought it from 6 months ago did. better late then never to update my details with VW.
Is there anywhere that lists which models/years that these Service Campaigns apply to? Or it is a matter of checking with a service centre directly?

A google search (definitive I know!) turned up the following:
In a report filed with the Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Ministry, the wholly owned subsidiary of Volkswagen AG said the Polo models in question were manufactured between August 2004 and August 2009 and include 1.4-liter and 1.8-liter engine versions.
This would include mine, guess I'll get them to check it out when the Golf gets its next service shortly.
Its between 06-09 model polo (pretty sure thats the years). And its to check 2 pins in the airbag plug are around the correct way, as it may lead to airbag later deployment then intended.
