Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • My Polo is Evil

    Hi All

I know we all have troubles with the aircon in these things, have had mine repaired 3 times already but driving down the eastern yesterday pisssing down rain i hear this dreaded gas leak from beneath the passenger glovebox..

    Aircons bloody leaking again!

Now i know they don't use toxic gasses in these things nowadays but that stuff seriously gives you head spins and a minor headache if you cant open the window straight away, its the last thing you want to happen on the freeway.. Cars trying to gas me lol

learnt the hard way.. rain hail or shine, if you hear the thing leaking, just open the windows!

BTW anyone know the solution to these dodgy aircons? Has been working fine for 5 months now until this.. maybe 4th time lucky?

its not a good idea to be in the cabin if its filling up with R134a gas.... mine is leaking past the clutch pulley on the a/c compressor itself. $800+ is a bit dear atm..
