Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • New go fast bits on order

I have just ordered a FMIC from the States and a set of Bosch 440cc injectors. The intercooler is really for the Golf but I will adapt it to fit. All up less than $500 for both delivered. It will be interesting to see if I get much gain when matched to my K04 turbo...

Well if it won't run well with my current APR tune for the K04 I will have to try to get a custom map done or maybe I should of gone with the 380cc ones. Time will tell...

APR specifiy the stock injectors with a 4bar I think. The 380cc ones I have, they are OEM TT/S3 they are not cheap either

I Have the 4bar FPR but the stock injectors keep maxing out - so I figured I'd give the 440cc ones a go at $120, if that wont work then I'll grab a set of 380 ones and get my hand in my pocket...

stock injectors can not be used with K04 turbo's...!
but you can use 380cc from TT/S3 or 440cc ones will also do just fine.
you will need to get it custom tuned, you can drive with youre current map but you must be gentle!
if you are going to use full power with that set up you might do some damage, so i won't advice it..

For that exercise you will need to flash it to standard, Vw have asked dealers not to do it now as they have corrupted a couple whilst doing so. They will do it with bended arm and a disclaimer. Other software makes it hard to read and redo when other tune is on there. When stock i would be having a chat to Gavin(h100VW) , Custom code can cater for the out of the box tunes.
                      Good luck with it

If i went for the 380cc injectors do you think I would still need a custom tune? just trying to think of the most economical way to go
