Brake fluid level

Hi guys

Is there any other way to check the brake fluid level apart from visually? It's hidden in the rear of the engine and even with a bright torch, I can't see the level...

I've already removed the engine cover and intercooler pipe.

You could let the car take care of that for you. Can't think of one VW that didn't since the MK1 Golf came out.
