Suspension for Polo Match.

Hi guys,

I've done a bit of a search online for info regarding springs for my car, but I haven't been succesful.

I can't find anyone that does springs for the 1.6 tiptronic match.

I think it has to do with the weight of the car.

I know that according to vw, my car's tare weight is 1162kg.

I also know that the GTI's tare weight is 1190kg.

The question I guess is - if I pick up a set of second hand gti shocks and springs (which I would think are lower then the matches and a lot stiffer too) - would I accrue any benefits?

I'm slotting on some golf gti rims soon with some good rubber, so it's only normal I'd want to compliment the tyres with a good handling package.

Any help appreciated.

hey MKIVF.

The golf GTI rims will not fit on the polo cuz of the different bolt pattern, unless you can get replica with the patter of 5x100.

with regards to polo gti's shock and springs, how much can you get them for? because the gti's weak point is the suspension. maybe hav a look at a koni sports kit. because it'll be lower then the standard gti, and you'll want to drop it more then the standard if you gonna fit 17" under there. cuz if you look at this thread.....its too high!!

The golf gti rims are from a 2003 model (16inch wheels). AFAIK, they share the same bolt pattern and offset as the current polo match, which is 5x100.
