Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

I've got these on my GTI, got them from VW spare parts in Moorebank (Sydney). Think they cost me about $50 at the time, but it was about two years ago. IMO they look good and serve a very good practical purpose.

Summer's coming people (even to Melbourne) - any interest now? Blitzen is fitting them to his GTi so they're cool, hey??

I fitted mine last night... I was a bit dubious on how they would look, but they look pretty good, and I am very happy with them... Hopefully no more water runoff in through the windows now!!

The owner thinks they're great (and he's younger than you, vwthunder)

Since you have 2 cars that can use them Maris, the freight is far more reasonable (though if there were any other people in Adelaide who wanted some, then a group buy wouldn't hurt)

            lol
Yeah, I love them. They are subtle and effective. So subtle that you never even noticed them on mine Troy

              They could grow on me

I'd like to see them in flesh, so to speak.

I have the OEM units that fit inside the window channel (no double-sided tape).

Been on for almost 10 months. No problem. They do reduce the amount of water coming through the window opening....but don't reduce wind noise/ingress too much when the window is 100% open.

All in all...no problems, look smart, effective to a degree.

Can't see they would do much really.

I think you'll find they will have an adverse effect on our aerodynamics, thereby reducing our chances of losing a race with a Veyron.
