    Hi,

I had the polo tuned (Superchips) by Jimmy on Friday last week, along with a forge diverter valve and Forge turbo intake pipe. The results are fantastic, more than I had actually expected. It now happily revs beyond 6000rpm in second and likely third. It punches harder everywhere. It now actually feels like a hot hatch should, it's found some mongrel and boosts really quite hard.

I also had a rear sway bar and slotted rotors and remsa pads fitted, to compliment the current H&R spring/Bilstein suspension. It's now a very nice little combination of go and whoa.

Went for a drive with a mate (mkV gti) along the mt lindsay highway/lions road, so across the boarder. I had no problem dispatching him through the corners. He's borrowing my car at the moment so he'll be better positioned to advise on how it goes compared to a near stock golf, but I'm chuffed, it has really transformed the car.

Must say, as the mate who "was dispatched with no problems on the corners" I am suitably impressed with the Polo, but didn't drive it in anger before to provide a true comparison. Coming from the almost stock (VFE Intake only) MkV Golf GTi, the power delivery on the chipped polo seems fairly similar to that of the Golf, little bit less down the rev range than the 2.0 (to be expected), but more linear and coming on song about 2700RPM with a solid push - not at all like the kick that the Subi delivers.

The tune, TIP, diverter, including fitting swaybar, pads and rotors and oil change was $1650. The pads were $99 from GSL, I got the slotted rotors through my brother at trade price for $195. So excluding the suspension, for less than $2k the thing flys.

Well I've now got the itch to do more. Front mount is high on the list so following the other thread with interest. Am planning on tracking it next weekend so that'll provide me enough info as to where I need to focus on. I have no doubt my tyres are a weak link (got the KU31's which seem to fall apart on the track), and am anticipating the desire for a front strut brace.

Though I'm back studying part time now, so have very little spare time to drive it.
