well i havnt heard to many polo with systems on them so i dunno what would be well suited<
probably 2.5 cat back system i guess, even though most people tell me the systems are pretty well spec'd up anyway having a sportier system on them only just needing to change the massive sound restrictive mufflers
        soo really quite stuck

I always read that the full exhaust isn't the issue on our cars, it is the DP ... Milltek run a nice system, by nice I mean the sound of it - youtube clips are around - but it costs a pretty penny.

If you buy in Australia... Got a Quote for the Miltek dump pipe from the UK for less than $620 AUD delivered. It's a big difference from the $950 to $1250 I got quoted for the same item here in Australia.

The stock system is pretty good. Depending on what year model you have, you will either have 2 mufflers (05/06), or one muffler (07+) in using the large catalyst.

              MADD...
so most people would be after a bigger dump pipe and a better airflow after market muffler being a 08 model?

Well the dump pipe is pretty much the only restriction. The only muffler on an 08 is right at the back of the car where the tips are. I think you would only get more sound if you replaced the muffler.

The other night I was talking to the valet at a hotel where I was staying in Melbourne. He was a VAG fan, and was wondering what kind of exhaust I had on my Polo. He was surprised when I told him that it was stock.
I have noticed when the exhaust gets some heat in it after a few hours driving that it gets a lot louder.

I bought a used APR DP a month or two ago from the classifieds section on here.
I've yet to install it though because it needs a software adjustment which i'll have done when I chip it.
I'm pretty happy with the stock exhaust and I've been told the DP doesn't make it too loud.

Should the dp make it louder seeming its giving the turbo more airflow to breath

Sure. Have a search, I think the 3" sounded louder / different to 2.5" versions but there were some concerns about if this design affected torqe in a negative way at low revs. Looking at a custom one, importing or bu yin local?

Did you buy the car from someone on here? Your avatar pic looks colour coded and lowered.

Will the Miltek downpipe fit the stock exhaust?
