i think you have to drill holes for the rear brace, dont know how much good the rear would make anyway???????

The front on the UK website is 52 pounds, the rear is 88 pounds. Thats a big difference in price just to buy the things, let alone the currency conversion and shipping. The rear brace looks a fair bit heavier and so postage is going to be big for it.

Wait for the official word though, this is just what I've read.

Without wanting to be a wet blanket, you should be careful with wth strut braces. They will often negatively afffect the balance of your car by greatly increasing understeer &/or oversteer in a streetcar. Sometmes a bit of give in the chasis is a good thing for a street car and even a track car

Thanks peter for sharing your opinion with us. Personally i have to disagree. Search Strut Brace, Strut Bar or Strut tower brace on google and you will find many aftermarket manufacturers and many forums also looking for the same upgrade. Interesting to note what wikipedia has to say (generally a reliable source of info)
A strut bar is designed to reduce this strut tower flex by tying two parallel strut towers together. This transmits the load of each strut tower during cornering via tension and compression of the strut bar which shares the load between both towers and reduces chassis flex.

A direct result of this is improved chassis rigidity (similar to that gained from a lower tie bar); hence, the understeer is reduced, tire wear improved and metal fatigue is greatly reduced in the strut tower area. Following the aftermarket's lead, some manufacturers have started fitting strut bars to performance models, including the Nissan Skyline, Mazda RX-8, Acura CL Type-S, BMW e46 M3 CSL, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, Toyota MR2 SW20 and the HOLDEN VY II Commodore, as standard equipment.
So there are also cars made from stock that have one. I know my old corolla had one that also was bolted to the firewall so there was no flex at all. And it was a beautiful handling car. Not to mention that there wil still be some give in the chassis but a uniform one.

No matter what happens im still getting one.

And you are right - some cars benefit from them, some it doesn't make any difference to and others will handle worse.

It all depends on the characteristics of the car to start with and what other suspension mods you have done as to how this mod will interact.

From personal experience I found a rear brace turned a beautifully handling little car into one that suddenly had nasty oversteer. I took it off and the balance was back.

I'll be interested to hear everyones experiences with them as I will be finally picking up my little red baby Tue or Wed

hmmm... this is so tempting.... i don't know what to do!! lol.

I'll be interested in a strut brace, and maybe the rear depending on price..

                                But just a question..

Do i loose alot of useable space if i put a rear strut bar on??
