Consider yourself lucky it wasnt a bunch of drunk hooligans who did more damage. I have a Peugeot 205 GTi track car parked undercover outside my house (with a car cover on it) that was broken into recently by drunk neighbourhood kids.
This sort of behaviour makes my blood boil Kangfu. We see such ill-disciplined youth these days, they have no respect for anything or anybody. We really do need Singapore-style punishment here. Birch them, they'll think twice about doing that again.
I had a similar thing happen with my last car (metallic silver Subaru Liberty), parked out on the street overnight and in the morning there was a big dent between the headlight and wheelarch. My guess was that someone reversed out of the drive over the road and straight into it as there were no scrape marks, thankfully the headlight and the front bumper were fine so all it needed was a new front quater panel. The paint was blended the into the drivers door and repainted the front bumper (it was covered in stone chips) but no need for the bonnet.
