  • Polo suspension and mounts info please.

Ok so I have been looking around alot lately, and I've seen a good few bits we can get for our polos. My question is what suspension and mounting goodies have you guys fitted and where did you get them. I'm talking dog bone mount inserts, control arm and other bushes, sway bars, ect. My control arm bushes are due for replacement, so while I'm at it I wanna look at upgrading a couple of other things too.....

I have the SEAT Cupra control arm bushes, APR dog bone mount, and Bilstein Fibi strut top bushes. My rear sway bar bushes ar as supplied with the rear sway bar by Whiteline.

They are stock wheels on bora sports and are a VW OEM Wheel

Think they were made by Ottinger or Ronal

                    Coilovers.

They don't make the racing spec for the polo just the super street but they made a set up (they may sell them now, will have to see if they update their website).

i've got the fulcrum suspensions / superpro engine mount - i think they've got them on awesome gti.

for bushes i've got control arm rear bushes, and rear axle beam lock, both by whiteline.

the difference is frigging unreal. if i had to choose between my tune and the bushes/ mount, i'd pick the bushes/ mount.

Scott, how much difference did the rear axle beam lock bushes make ?

                            hey troy, how's it going?

i guess the best way to sum it up is this:

                            - before, the rear used to be a fair bit... "wobbly". now, it just seems like it's quite a fair bit tighter... combined with the control arm rear bushes, as a package, it feels to me like the front bushes = firmer, with much more solid feel and feedback, and the rear axle beam bushes = compliment the front bushes, tightening up the rear.
                            - keeping in mind im on 50 profile rubber, with stock shocks and just lowering springs, the back feels more sure of itself than it did before i put the rear axle beam bushes in - no more "wobble 'n squat" feel under heavy braking.

i've read on other forums (bmw etc) that the rear axle beam bushes by whiteline "are the wrong material, it needs to be something other than poly" etc, but if i had to do it all again, hell yes i would.

                              Good thread.

                              AP Coilovers
                              Forge frontbrace
                              Whiteline rear control arm bushes
                              Dogbone mount
                              Tried a bunch of droplinks
                              Whiteline Sways

When you start tinkering, get the Seat bushes for the control arm done early. I like the Whiteline ones, but there is likely more noise and steering feedback
