  • replacement SMIC

Any companies in Australia have SMIC upgrades which are completely bolt on and use the standard pipes?

The core itself just seems a bit too small. Heat soak can be horrid

      Replacement SMIC

How come people on here dont use them???

Are they not a worthwhile upgrade?

Im just not keen on forking out 2400 for a full fmic jobby.

Just need something a little larger than stock which doesnt suffer soo badly from heatsoak, maybe mount a spraying kit on it too?

I didn't see one listed for the Polo on Forge's website. Is it the same as the one on a MK4 Golf?

My 2c...while a dyno reveals heat soak problems and shows the benefits of a FMIC, I just wonder how much there is when the car is, eg, tracking or on the hwy?

i've done the wheel arch exhaust hot air from the SMIC mod and will be keen to see if there's any difference on the track this wkend.

I also checked out the Forge SMIC option prior to going FMIC, which is the same as the Golf4 one. Feedback I could gather from Golf4 owners who installed one was that the results were neglible (unit cost approx $1000).

If you look at my recent dyno - pre FMIC my AFR was too rich, post FMIC it levelled up perfectly.
