This is a strange thread, I loved my swaybars, I have them front and back. Take them away and the car is softer on the road. The rear sway helps keep the inner front wheel planted, reducing the need for ESP to kick in.
Pologti18t - I can understand that position for a rear wheel driver, but not really for a front. Not trying to be argumentative, but that doesn't explain the improved front end feel when driving within the limits of the car. At the point where the car losses traction I can see the point you've raised, but how does that improvement correspond when driving at say 7/10?
Next track day i'll play with the settings and see how it affects the times.

POSSIBLY, it is the better balance of the car that reduces the need for the ESP to cut in rather than any improvement in the front end. If the car is more neutral, then the front wheels will be pointing more in the intended direction rather than being turned in further (ie the understeer). This lower loading on the front should reduce the outward weight transfer across the front track so the inside tyre will have more grip, even though the car has lower overall grip, and could make the ESP interpret that the car is behaving with more control.

It doesn't take too long to fit so don't be too worried.
Fit the links first, they take the longest.
And make sure the car is level when you hook up the bar, as you dont want to preload the bar.
Also, although the bar looks the same on both sides, there is an upper and lower side to it so if you find the links wont connect, you've probably got it upside down.
For those that have installed the Whiteline rear sway bar, what setting have you set it on (soft/medium/hard)? What are your views on setting (initial) and let me know if you are on stock suspension setting or not.
Buller_Scott advised that the max hard setting will cause unexpected oversteer on stock suspension.
I have one on my mk4 - see my build thread - makes the car feel pointier - the steering feels more direct and the car feels flatter through turns - I like it a lot. My car is lowered on springs and shocks and a standard front antiroll bar. Rear bar is set at the second most stiffest setting.
The left front shock has its plastic dust cover off and this yellow cap floating freely.
Not sure what it is.
Only just spotted this picture - that yellow block is the "transport" stops that were to be removed when your car was pre delivered at the dealership. Probably a very good idea to remove it - you can see its been partially crushed by shock travel!
Just bought the Whiteline rear sway bar BWR19Z from eBay new for $200 delivered to the door (coming from Melbourne). Now to wait for the delivery and get it installed. I think that I will start on the medium hole (as I really want to feel a difference). Tempted to go hard setting but if its easy to change the setting myself then medium it is. Thanks for your views.
yeah... it's well publicised / marketed, but it really is just a gimmick to get folks who cant just yet afford to uprate their whole suspension setup, to say "wow! turn in is awesome! i cant believe it!!!"
i set mine on minimum today.... if i had shorter bolts, it would have come off all together.... a decent setup will be far superior to just "i want turn in so i'll set it on MAAAAXXXX!!!"
p.s. i am in no way being a snob... for the longest time i had huge ride height with my sway bar on max setting.... its not........... effective.
