  • VW Polo Wilwood Big Brake Kit

    Hey guys,

I'm looking to bring in these Wilwood big brake kits. I'm getting one to start with to make sure it fits and if all goes well I'll be offering them through AUTOsports.

Wilwood High Performance Disc Brakes - Brake Kits for: 2001 Audi TT

I'm yet to finalise any pricing but as soon as I know I'll post it. They will be significantly less than the Brembo kits and like around...

    Cheers

    Peter

Oh, and if anyone is interested please let it be known. The more I can bring in the cheaper they will be.

I am interested, if only it fits under the stock 16" rims. and of coz it needs to be 'bolt on'.

Cos 5 or so years ago, Willwood didn't make an ADR compliant caliper something to do with a dust cap placement or bleed nipple, a little vague on specifics nowadays. Which left Brembo and I think Alcon as the only ADR compliant upgrades (for subaru's anyway) on the market.

I'm interested!!! But only if it fits under my 17' exxors and are a direct bolt on. Wouldn't want anything that needs custom fabrication as it's gonna be real expensive. Was quoted $450 per caliper mount and $900 per hat for installation of ap racing calipers and that was still plus overall install costs and the price of the rotors and calipers and hoses etc.

Guys as far as I am aware the kits are not ADR compliant. It's a dust boot thing. You would have to get them engineer approved, which is what I'll be doing so I'll let everyone know the costs of that. As far as the kit goes it should be under $2000.

And yes they should be a bolt on, but I'll let you know once I've fitted and tested them and had them engineer approved.

dont know why you would bother when there are good kits around using porsche calipers (which are superior to the wilwoods).
If it does go ahead, be very careful with the cost of replacement rotors, they're often very expensive
Current: '04 Astra SRI Turbo - EDS IPF Flash, 3" TBE, Quaife LSD
Previously: Bora 4mo, cams, coilovers, tune, exhaust, brembo's etc

I agree the porsche calipers would be fantastic, but matching up rotors, hats and then having caliper brackets made means the cost would more than likely be at least double which is why I didn't consider that path. In saying that though if it the price is only slightly more then I would actually consider it. How much are Porsche calipers new? Has anyone on here done the conversion and know of costs and what other parts are needed?

That would have been me, I got a kit to suit a audi off ebay as someone decided not to fit it, it was a 034 motorsports kit

All i needed to do is make a spacer to space it back a little

Van (SSMAN) just put Stage 3? ECS kit on, so guessing MK4 GTI kits fit

Oh and 312mm rotors are quiet cheap too when they need to be replaced, not like 2 piece ones
