  • Suspension wobbly

    Hello,

I just want to ask you guys something that i been experiencing with my suspension, and i was wondering whether that's normal or is something loose??

Every time I hit a bump(uneven road surface) around a corner, i felts like the body of the slides off to the end, while the wheels stay where it is... It's hard to explain it on paper... but i have included a pix to shows what it felt like.

    Is that normal?

How fast are you going around these corners?

If it's at a reasonably sedate pace, I'd get that looked at pretty quickly because I've never known a car to do that.

If you're firing the car through the corner - you might be experiencing good old-fashioned bodyroll. The Polo's not tied down that well and tends to lean in corners quite a lot - to the extent that it'll cock a rear wheel.

I think tight suspension, low profile tires etc., means that performance on uneven surfaces suffers compaired to a normal car.... that's just the rules.

I have noted something like this on my Polo GTI, and on my previouse car Golf 2.0FSI with sports suspension and 17in wheels. If you hit a pot hole cornering hard, its almost like it slow the car down a bit... and maybe it does....
