  • Service due

    Hey dubbers

my cars due for a service and i was wondering if anyone else has alternatives to the dealer service, my last dealer service was a terrible experience...rude, scratched my car, expensive, and time consuming did i mention expensive, so what are other options around for servicing my car but still get a quality job done.

    your responses will be appreciated

    cheers guys

I got my first service done by http://www.europeanautotech.com.au/. Very happy and was under $200.

Please note though - European Autotech will be closed from the 1st of July until the 6th of August.

My God, Flaps ... that's cheap. Might drive down from Bris for my next one (even considering the gas it would be cheaper than the $tealers up here).

Yep think my regular service cost $192 or something similar, rather than approx $360 from a dealership. Go figure.

Austral. Mind you ... I've just dug up the account ... not as expensive as I remembered. 12 month service - $212.00

(Maybe it was the Toyota I was remembering I know that was more expensive when it was new.)

Any recommendations for Melbourne guys?, ive got 8k on the clock so its going to be due in a couple of months.

Also didnt get much love from the dealer with the few niggly issues i had so i wont be giving them the revenue for maintaining it.

I thought the Polos were supposed to be serviced every 15,000kms? (I'm assuming when you say 8k on the clock you're thinking you're due for the 10,000km service?)

Question for the guys that got their cars serviced at European Auto Tech:

Does it void the warranty if you get those guys to do your servicing and not a VW dealer?

If your around Northern beaches go see European Autotech. If your out west, see Seb at http://www.euroauto.com.au. Seb is really busy at the moment.

I'm currently at 45,850km so I'll need mine done now as well. Will also get my TIP installed.

Based on services being every 15,000km, should be 60,000km unless you had one done late. I just check the manual (novel idea I know) and it says it's at 60,000km.

No, it doesn't - as long as if they do a parts replacement, they do so using genuine parts. Obviously, VW isn't going to honour a parts warranty on a non-genuine part!

There isn't really a drawback into going to a trusted mechanic, be it Seb, Derek or the people up at VW Village at Kensington who I've also heard good things about. The only possible drawback is that some buyers prefer to see the dealer stamps in the right places when they're tracing a car's service history.
