  • My Polo wheels...

Had a go at changing the look of my wheels...its not painted, just self adhesive vinyl like they use for signwriting cars, easy to put on and easy to remove. I got the bits cut by a signwriter and stuck em on. Not sure...think it looks better. I'll live with it a while and see how it goes.

    (hope these picture work)

I tried to get this effect by only cleaning the break dust of these parts

Mate dont take them off. Its not my personal taste. BUT thats what exterior mods are for on a car. To make the car enjoyable for you, its your personal opinion that really counts. I give you 2 thumbs up for being original. Good work. Personally im going to paint or have my wheels painted. We will see.

Stick with it mate. You mod your VW for one person ONLY...

              YOU

I was impressed that someone has the individualism and originality to try something new like this. I really do like the look, it's far more aggressive than stock + sets you apart from the rest of the herd...

              Stay with it mate

Definitely looks the goods! Like the others have said, don't let others dictate what you want to do with the car. In the long run, it's your car, and if you don't end up the way you'd like it to be, it'll simply wouldn't be a joy to own it.

That's actually quite nice - and the key here is that they're quickly reversible too if they're not what you want at the end of the day.

My only question revolves around durability - how will the vinyl hold up under the pretty extreme conditions that wheels are subjected to? (ie hot brake dust hitting them, as well as water exposure etc).

As has already been said - it's your car, and you don't have to justify mods that make you happier to anyone else. I've seen one Golf GTI with a WRX-style bonnet scoop, and while that really isn't my taste, if that makes the owner happy, then by all means, they should enjoy their car.

Normally i would say ony women look good in adhesive black vinyl, but those wheels look like Shuriken, edgey and deadly...big 10 from me!

I think it actually makes the wheels look bigger.
Looks fine in the pics. Be interesting to see in person
