  • GTI head unit questions???

Hi all, just a few little questions that have been on my mind since i got my polo

Is it possible to somehow get the head unit back light to stay on without having to turn on the parker lights?, is a nice to see whats playing when when you park the car somewhere with the mrs in the back

also how hard is it to get some sort of ipod/aux adapter happening?

last but not least, does everyones volume jump rapidly with very short turns? is there some sort of sensitivity adjustment thats programmable?

Thanks fellas, Other than these minor annoyances the cars great, still puts a smile on my face when ya give it some stick,

    Cheers

I think there is a setting that adjust volume with speed, think its in the manual somewhere. Else do a search.

For iPod connectivity i installed an Xcarlink cable and it works great. Plugs into the CD changer port on the back and works with the stock headunit controls, though i've got my iPhone mounted on the vent using a DLO vent holder.

Ahh holding down the tune allows you to change some sort of sensitivity for speed adjustment, not to sure if it changed the turn sensitivity?

Looks like a decent setup that with the dlo clip, does the xcarlink send song names to the head unit?

      Cheers

Nah doesnt send song names to the headunit, just displays CD1 TRACK99 for example. Though the iPhone is just there in view, on the vent anyway. I dont use the headunit to change tracks i just touch the iPhone.

Wish our cars had steering wheel controls/stalk but oh well, i'll live.

Not sure about the tune thingo, i usually wind the windows down and listen to the car rather than music anyway hehe.
