I guess this is more of a general question, but how often should I rotate the tyres? And do I rotate them including the spare?

nope.. i wouldnt rotate the spare... keep it nice and new, that way in a few years if you sell it private the spare will look as new which will show you have taken care of the car.. ie: not driving on the spare for 100k's before fixing the puncture... My 2 cents anyway.. mario.Originally posted by poloplayer View PostI guess this is more of a general question, but how often should I rotate the tyres? And do I rotate them including the spare?

to be technically correct you are supposed to rotate your spare as well.. that way all tyres get wear from all corners of the car and should be approximately even in tread wear. I think the standard rotation time is 10000km's.1974 1300 Beetle, 1997 Golf GL, 2003 New Beetle Cabrio, 2014 Audi A4 quattro

Since it is front wheel drive car I'm rotating every 5,000km including spare. There is good reason for that when the car will be 10 years old or more and tyre was never used it doesn't have to be in usable condition when you get the puncture.Originally posted by 1DUB2C View Postdo u need allignment or balance after rotation?
I always put 2-4 psi more at the front tyres just in case I have to brake hard (under heavy braking the centre of the tyre colapses and tyre has contact with the road only with the edges of the tread only).Performance Tunes from $850Wrecking RS OCTAVIA 2 Link
