  • Correct sparkplugs for Polo 9N1 - Sept 2003 - 1.4L Manual

    Hi everyone,

Can anyone tell me what sparkplugs they use on their 9N1 1.4L engine? I'm about to change mine over and preffer not to pull them out to check what's in there now.

Champion don't list them in their shop catalogues

NGK list BKUR6ET-10 which is the only refernce I've found to this engine anywhere

Bosch don't list this engine although list F6LTCR and F7LTCR as a cross refernce for NGKs BKUR6ET-10

While in another Bosch cat the cross ref for NGKs BKUR6ET-10 is listed as the FR7LDC+ which are a double platinum with a 100,000km service interval!!

While on ebay I've found some Champion RC8VTYC4 which apparently are a cross ref for NGKs BKUR6ET-10

    Cheers

The NGK website should be right, think they are same plugs as 1.8t engine. Nothing wrong with normal NGK's

Yeah I'll just go with the NGKs seeing they're the only ones that list the 9N1 Polo... You'd think other manufacturers would want to sell some sparkplugs for these too. When you cross ref the other manufacturer's recommandations for the NGK BKUR6ET-10 back to NGK you notice that the plugs ref to a completelly different NGK number which puts doubt into your head. Anyway I'll update the thread once I pull the original ones out.

      Cheers

Did the service today and the plugs that were in the engine already were the NGK BKUR6ET-10's. They go for $12.40 retail, $8.90 trade each...

I'll order from ebay next time, looks like you can get a set of 4 delivered from the UK for AU$25 total.
