  • GTI's with leather Interior

    Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has any pics of these with a grey leather interior?

Looking at picking one up soon and just wondering if leathers better than fabric in these things

    Cheers

Whats the quality of the leather like, is it comparable to the golf? or a cheap imitation of it?

Mate, I honestly think that you are going to have to get out there yourself and have a look at a leather optioned car, and stock fabric seated car. Then you can make your own decision. I have not heard anything bad about the Polo leather interior. I have the fabric seats, and I am starting to tire of them. They are hard to keep clean, but I am not a fan of leather, especially since I have lived in warmer climates since I have owned the car.

Mate I suggest that you get out too and look. I just brought a MY09 Gti Polo with the Tartan cloth would have liked leather simply because I thoguht I hated the look of the Tartan cloth, until I found mine with Tartan cloth. I changed my mind, I like it. I have seen some poorly fitted leather in these Polos which if I was taking delivery from showroom would have rejected.

I think VW would have the same leather supplier to do Golf/Polo but I have to say in sunny QLD best avoid the leather. Leather will scratch easily and a bit of persiration and you wil be slipping and a sliding.
          Cheers Al

I have the leather and it still looks new after 24k, I just give it a leather treatment every few months and it's perfect plus the seats are heated , which is nice on a cold day.

I couldn't stand the tartan myself, just looked horrible.

My (now sold) Polo had the leather and I loved it, a great feel, easy to keep clean, makes the interior look and feel nicer, and the heated seats are godsend on cold winter mornings

def getting leather, test drove one with the fabric, kinda feels a lil cheap in a sense yet you forget all about it when you start her up

use to have an e46 bmw, once a month id hit it with the mothers leather cleaner, interior always looked and smelt brand new

+1 for leather! Mine looks brand new and getting to 22K (1year) old, easy to clean, and the heated seats are a winner (especially with the prettier sex)! I love it too as I like to have the car cooler (freezing I am told) when I drive, so the heated seat means long trips are not uncomfy for the freezers or for me when I have to put on the heat and feel like I am trying to sleep and drive together! I have had multiple people comment that they believe the leather is of high quality (people in the auto-showing industry) so I was happy with that.

If you get the Tartan you could always just get it re-trimmed like I did in whatever combo you want...

I went for Red / Grey leather... Oh and interior is 60k old

Could be For Sale for the right price too, but location could be a problem...
