Email Notifications Failing (mostly Telstra)
Hello everyone. Seems there is an issue with Telstra (possible others) blocking email from our server. If you are trying to sign up I would suggest a different email if possible. If you're trying to reset your password and it fails please use the Contact Us page:
as the question says, does it use an OBDII interface? i've seen the port under dash near the steering column but i am not familiar with the pin layout (not a very geeky fellow in car interfaces).
Be aware, I don't think you can get boost from these controllers as the ECU does not have a boost pressure sensor. My understanding is that with our cars, Boost is calculated from some other data.
Pog, make sure it can clear codes as well as scan them, otherwise you'd end up with something that can only really do what a $30 cable and a lappy can do...
Do any of the VWs or any other cars in oz as a matter of fact even use the CAN protocol or only OBD2? Just wondering as the OBD2 + CAN enabled scanners seem to be much more pricey.
OBD2 is on all cars after 02 guys. OBD means onboard diagnostics for those who dont know. Noone if you are getting codes mate have them checked simply erasing them isnt fixing them!!! They come up for a reason mate. There is up to 6 protocols used for the record. What are you looking at doing mate??? good scanners are dear for a reason. Part of my job is diagnostics mate and to do it right , well look at the majority of the market reqs 6 good scanner. I have around 10Ks worth of diagnostic gear and growing just as an idea, an its growing as the market changes. My tuning cables were over 10K!!! There is a good reason the stuff is dear. Go cheap and have a cheap result.
Cheers

The 9n3 '05-on 1.8T GTI has a boost pressure sensor (called "thrust sensor" for some reason); this is one of the key elements in the Bosch ME7.5 ECU for turbocharged models. Took me abit of time to find it; but here it is:
I'm not sure how relevant it is to this discussion, but worth pointing out anyhow I think!
