The polo I ordered has now been built and I have the VIN. I was wondering where on the internet I can track its progress through the various stages of shipping and delivery? Thanks.

Can't remember which "Track by" you need to use, try them all with your VIN and you'll come across the right one.

haha, i only have access to Suzuki, sorry maybe you should have ordered a swift S ??? then i could have kept you in the loop with shipping times. ( yes im just being a twat)

But in all honesty, if you have a good relationship with your dealer sales consultant just give him/her a buzz and ask for a bit of a update.

Thanks for the information guys, I tried http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do but I can't seem to do it. Do I put in the full VIN? Including the WVWZZZ9N... part? I guess I'm not desperate to track the car, but it would be exciting to check its progress.

Well, I tried a couple of other VINs I found on carsales etc, and the tracking is working, so it seems that my Polo is still not booked to be shipped
Guess I'll just have to wait a little longer.

Can I ask what was so special about your car that they had to order one in & not just source locally/interstate? Colour/extras etc?

Possibly the fact that they ran out of cars

When I ordered mine back in Feb 06 I waited bout 40 days.

Fair enough, but they had plenty of stock when I got mine a month ago, thats why I asked Floody, its always a bummer to wait more than a few weeks

Yeah but not all dealers have access to all those cars. Dealers have a quota, if they exceed it but want a car from somewhere they have to normally swap cars.

Well, I hope the dealers weren't pulling my legs, but it does seem that at the time there were no White with Leather and Roof in Australia. In fact, I was told they only had one red one with both leather and roof in Melb, and none of the ships coming had any that weren't already pre-ordered. I just got told mine's build date is 17/5. So, hopefully I'll see it soon.

As an indication mine was built 21/01/06, delivered 04/04/06. Purchased 05/02/06

Dealers are idiots. I was told that if I wanted a black one it would arrive in 2 months. Then 2 days later I got a call advising that if I wanted a Silver one I could have it in 2 months. But there would be an extra month wait for a black one. I said I'd wait for a black one. Not happy Jan!

But I ended up getting a black one in 2 months. Using the tracking system while they were telling me a black one wasn't available, it was already on the boat...

try waiting 4months... AND still not receive the car..

ordered a brand new Honda civic sport and they told me it would arrive in 2mths, after 2mths they said it'd come in another 2mths, so i waited and it still didnt come..! so i was like screw you - i'm looking at another car...!

Hey Cygnus.
Don't know if this helps, but i did a cruise on sydney harbour on
weekend and there was heaps of sporty golfs and polo's sitting
on the wharfs at hicksons rd waiting for transport.
They were not being wasted as the local seaguls had taken up roost.
unfortunately there was no blue grafite jetta's which I'm waiting on.
