Just a quick question, when sending an APR chipped Polo in for a genuine service, is it customary to disable the chip. (ie: set it to factory settings)?

I specifically tell any place that has my car not to drive it because its running way too much boost than it should because of a fault and they will very likely blow the engine if they thrash it and if it needs to be driven to get me. Scares them enough.. I've never had any extra kms on the tripmeter
I started doing this when one of the kids at JAX took it for a thrash after changing brake pads - Little did he know I was standing there watching it leave and come back. I had a huge go at the owner of the place and he was very very apologetic (me and my dad/brothers have been going there for years)
I figure seb/derek have much faster cars to thrash should they feel the need so I have no reservations leaving it there overnight etc.

this is the devil you must deal with when it comes to warrenty.I think it has to do with the apprentice mentality and all stealers of all makes have this problem.Ive seen happen at LEXUS and seen many a porsche been thrashed by mechs around alexandria.
If you so worried, just remember your car has already been thrashed when it was taken off the boat, loaded on the truck and delivered to your dealer.

I don't know about you, but my car doesnt see past 2000rpm for atleast the first 10minutes after a cold start and I'll never turn it off for atleast 5 ~10minutes after the turbo has really been pushed - Whether that be a very calm end to a trip or idling after its stopped. (And well, that goes for any car I drive really)Last edited by SoVeReIgN; 31-05-2007, 10:38 AM.
