Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Rear Diffuser

So, doing a bit more research after why the rear of the hatch gets so dirty, I came across this thread from the US from a dude who fabricated a rear diffuser for his Golf.
It could be argued that this probably would not make any noticible difference in everyday driving, but he did make the claim that his rear bar stayed cleaner for longer.
Has anyone ever seen these being made for the Polo?

Looks like a hell of a job...

Have not seen anything like this, you may find a bodykit that includes something similar, but getting it here from the UK or elsewhere would be expensive.

If you are worried about the rear getting dirty, drive faster. Hopefully the dirt won't be able to catch up

      I agree with Noone.

Would be a hell of a jopb and get dirty as.
Plus our crappy road system would mean it is likely to break or be destroyed.

the only cars that even need rear diffusers are ones that top 200km/h on a racetrack so no real need.
Better to spend the dollars on a set of good tyres or an ecu remap.
