Which fmic is best for polo gti??? Apr, forge or seat????

I'm Just about to head to Europe via the USA, so I will be looking for stuff over there. If I find what I want without having to pay the exorbitant prices we have to pay in Australia, I will get them there.
I just did a Google search to find and image and revue and found that Noone has a set!! Here are his thoughts...

What I don't get is how he got Awesome GTI to send them to Australia...Everytime I have rang them, they have told me they don't, and will not send to Australia...Ahh well...I'll just get them while I am in England.

I've emailed Awesome GTI and Sarah's given me a shipping quote to Australia. I'd try them again Blitzen.

If the Seat FMIC is the cheaper option then I'd definitely would be keen to buy it however it's a bit harder to get a hold of Seat parts.

Hey mate, unfortunately I was looking for something else on their site. However they did quote me around $110GBP for what I wanted to ship to Oz.

Send them an email of what you're looking to buy and they'll send you a quote. Just remember anything over $1K and you'll get hit with custom tax and GST.

In relation to the AP Coilovers: If you are considering these, be aware that my setup is great over 70kmph, but at low speeds can be jiggly. The faster you go, the more comfortable the handling is.

Hard for me to say if this is the AP's or all the other bits. I'd be asking for some feedback on the UK Polo site, quite a few sets on there.

Thanks Instigator. The issue with the Seat setup would be getting a core from Seat and a piping kit from Forge would add up to a hefty freight bill. I can't say how much as I never considered this core, but from memory the piping kit was 1/2 the cost of the Forge kit.

its been decided guys, im going with the FORGE! got a price quote which im reasonably happy with $1370 including the kit and installation.
just one last question theres an additional $310 for a Forge Silicon throttle body-Intercooler hoses, is this part really necessary? just want
to know, its optional. what is the purpose of this?

There are 2 parts that forge do as OEM replacement Silicone hoses.

The TIP is the pipe that takes air from the Airbox and funnels it to the turbo inlet. This upgrade helps the airflow to the turbo but does not yield much in terms of changes to the power. Installing the TIP can be a bastard of a job.

The throttle body hose goes from the Intercooler to the intake manifold. It is similar to the OEM pipe, but is reinforced which should reduce the chances of it ballooning or sucking in.

These parts do not need to be installed at the same time, the TIP is in a different area all together and the throttle body hose can be swapped over with some basic tools and a few minutes.

I would hope the $310 is for both parts, I'd assume they have not quoted the install of the tip separately. You do not need to do these parts now.

The Tip improves airflow, like the Seat intake (PD 160 i think), but does not make as much difference.

Not required, save your pennies for the suspension.

As pointed there is no power gain to be had for these items. But when I changed to the PDC160 I felt it instantly. I can only imagine that installing these hoses will be similar. It will help the engine breath better and feel stronger through the rev range. If I was in your position I'd be also buying them now, just my 2c.

When I first rang them in September last year, they said they would not send to Australia, however I rang them last night and they said they would ship the AP coilovers for 110 pounds postage. I am looking in at DHL for postage pickup from them as they do worldwid postage for 40 Euros.
Does anyone knop the Forge part number for the hose kit for the SEAT intercooler?? I had a look last night and could not find it...I might try and pick up a SEAT intercooler while I am in Europe.

@noone: Over here in Belgium the seat piping was more expensive than the forge.
