    Guys I need some help.

The other day I was on one of the VW forums, cant remember if it was here, UK Polos or VWVortex and there was a pick of a 4dr polo tdi. Who ever posted it described it as low and slow or something along those lines. I think it was grey/silver....

At the time I remember thinking it looked really good but I can't remember where I saw it and can't find it again. Can someone help with a link?

My brother's car was written off in the recent Melbourne storms and I need some help convincing him that the 4dr polos can look good lowered with some new rims. A tune should take care of the performance side of things making it faster than his written off XR4.

    Thanks in advance.

its not this one is it? as taken from tigerstyle.....

they should help him along, even if its not.

and yes, polo tdi + tune = bye bye xr4. i played with a lowered+wheels red xr4 in the last part of yarra bend [i have a chipped tdi]. the polo tdi isnt anything to marvel at, but it felt like i was just plain bullying him. he didnt look too happy when we came to a stop at the next set of lights.

Thanks guys, this should help a fair bit.

GolfMan what rims are they? Look a bit like Polo Cross' and do you have coilovers or just springs?

they are a 2 piece BBS ASA 17x7.5". I think they are the only set in Aus?!?!?!?! But yes VERY similar to Polo Cross wheels

            I have coilovers in it

the wheels are tentatively for sale because I want to go 16x9's

                  cheers man!

Yup Hot Tunings in there Took out the front helper springs and the ride quality is better I cant say Im dissapointed with them, they improved my handling, ride and slammage no end!

but Im not going to lie. KW's absoltely kill HT for ride quality. But hell, you'd expect them too for the extra coin!

Love the first pic, wheels and shaved front bumper to remove the number plate sticky-outy-bit.

Golfman, how would you possibly get 9" wide wheels on? I guess some poke would be in order... Looking at my TT's that are going on soon (7.5"), there is going to be bugger all room for anything bigger within the wheel arch. Maybe some fine tuning of offset to get closer to the suspension?

its been done before Its all about offsets! (which I will be triple checking)

I maye have to put a 8" on the front and 9" on the back but its a conprimise I can live with

9"s on the back would be awesome! Hope you don't have to raise the car due to rubbing.

Do you have a wheel in mind?

I've got the PSS in mine and the ride is a bit firm. With the amount of money I spent on the Bilsteins I should've gone with the KW's but I guess life is about trial and errors. I've got about a 20mm gap between the wheel and wheel arch, need to take this back to the mechanics to remove the adjusters and then it should be slamming

BTW what is the front helper springs?

running 8s no issues now with the spacers out all under the arches and plenty of people running 9-10s on you UK polos though offset then drops down to around 20-27.
Wide wheels can be done just not wide tyres.
