Just for your info, certain 17" wheels advertised for Jap cars such as Subaru and Celica *may* fit the Pog, ie, 5x100 PCD, offset 38-43, but you will be limited to a maximum width of 7.5". In any case, tyres are a limiting factor: in theory, you could fit 215/35 17 but I don't know if these are even available, so the widest you'll find is 205/40s. These fit 7" rims nicely, but look a tad strange on 7.5" rims.

          Hey Timbo,

What about a Golf GTI 17inch rims would they fit on a Polo GTI (which has the 16inch version)? Or would you need to change to smaller tyres?

No, they won't. While they "look" the same, they are a completely different PCD (5x112). Older Bora and Audi rims fit, though (A3, certain TT and S3)

I disagree - looks pretty phat when the rim sticks outside of the tyre beed... Not good for gutter rash thou

Not too good for the tyre, either when it's stretched over a too big rim.Insurance implications of such a set up would be pretty interesting, too.
