  • Service item schedule

    Hi folks

Just wondering where I would be able to find the service schedule for a Pog ie what items are inspected/replaced at which service?

On my old car it is listed in the back pages of the owner's handbook but the VW handbook doesn't seem to have it

    Thanks

As long as they do quality work. Most servicing seems pretty basic; oil, filters, etc. Its the stuff thats not in the schedule that takes some understanding of the car and there are not enough Polo's around for general mehanics to have quality understanding of the vehicle.

I looked at that site, could not see any reference to changing the timing belt... I'd be wary... I'd hope they are including this for the higher prices.

i should double check with the replacement of the timing belt for the higher priced service. i remember asking the cheapest dealer bout the timing belt...its not included in the price, they said its about $600ish onto of the service just to replace the timing belt :s

is there any problem if i dnt get it changed this time round? its an '06 model.

I think 60k is the recomended time for change. if it breaks, you are going to be up for fixing some serious problems...

I have low kms, but its an 06 as well... Need to keep it on my service agenda.

ok, just called up about the timing belt replacement....they told me 4-5yrs or 100,000kms
its not recommended to replace just yet, but they check it to see in what condition its in..so im not gonna worry about it just yet

My local VW dealer has just quoted me $820 for the 60k service, plus $1154 for the timing belt replacement

VW gave me a 3yr used car dealer warranty and claim i need to have it serviced there, and apparently the service guy said the timing belt had to be done at 60k ?!

only had the pog for 3 weeks too

You southern chaps need to get together, buy Jimmy an airfare, swish hotel room and a (few) nights out to fix/service your cars collectively. Down south you are reduced to going to dealers for a service???????? As Brando says in Apocalypse Now - The Horror, The Horror, The Horror........

The Polo manual says every 120,000 km with no time specified for the cam belt.
