Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Soft touch indicator (3 signals)

Hi guys, just to let you know that this can be changed between 0-5.

I changed the setting using VAGCOM yesterday to 4 signals. I find 3 signals a bit short, and 5 signals a bit long.

Easily changed if you have VAGCOM.

06 Golf GTI - Bluefin Stage 1 blacked out with ED30 theme, leather, xenon, etc.

Vag Com is diagnostic software and cable.

You hook up a computer via serial or USB interface or a dedicated device to your car's computer and you can check faults, clear faults, get info and change some settings.

Pretty cool if you like to play...

this actually sounds dangerous - is there anythign i can stuff up and not be able to recover from?
diagnostic stuff is great but how can i read the stuff - is there a user guide?

so in a nutshell - HOOK ME UP
what do i have to do to get this stuff?

i often wondered if this could be changed - I am not sure if 3 signals is enough to comply with the law in QLD - the lane change one is pretty subjective

"The driver must give the change of direction signal for long enough to give sufficient warning to other drivers and pedestrians."

but too short of this one...
"If the driver is about to change direction by moving from a stationary position at the side of the road or in a median strip parking area, the driver must give the change of direction signal for at least 5 seconds before the driver changes direction"

but then again if the indicator is on too long.....
"The driver must stop giving the change of direction signal as soon as the driver completes the change of direction."

I would hate to have to sit my license again now
