I have received a quote from a Sydney based distributor. The cost would be $920 (inc GST) per kit of:
    2 x Bilstein B8: VE3-5218
    2 x Bilstein B8: BE3-6790
    Delivered to eastcoast.

This is based on 5 people buying, if we get more, I'm happy to renegotiate but don't expect much less...

If you are interested, please express your interest in this thread and if we get enough interest I will follow up.

Still waiting on US counterpart, have received reply, but not costing.

Retail on the shocks was $1240 from Bilstein Aust.

I'd be interested, any chance of getting them with matching 30mm-50mm springs?

I don't see why that would be an issue, but first things first, lets see what other pricing comes in and see if we get 5 confirmed parties (assuming you are in, not just interested, we would only need 3 more).

The best price I've found for B8s is here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=290348568869
Dont know if this will help you because it says that he only delivers to Europe, but you could contact the seller and ask if he would deliver to Australia.

I've received a quote from one of the distributors in the US:

The cost would be close to $800 (inc GST) per kit of:
              2 x Bilstein B8: VE3-5218
              2 x Bilstein B8: BE3-6790
Delivered to central location and allowance made for redistribution.

This does not include any taxes, etc. Are there taxes from US imports on this area?

Again based on sale of 5 sets. I have not looked into warranty, personally I'd assume if you had issues, you'd just buy a new shock and be happy its still cheaper than paying retail.

Anywhere under 1k and you can count me in the "5"
That is way cheaper than the $1200 I was quoted

That's a great price, but i think the Customs charge custom duties and GST for goods $1000AUD and over, which includes shipping also (eg. item = $850, shipping = $150, total = $1000AUD, duties and GST payable) i could be wrong, but a few years ago, i brought some car audio stuff from ebay US, and the total USD value including Shipping was about $800, but it was about $1150AUD, i had to pay 10% GST plus about $50 custom duites, and also had to fill out a thick as clearance form, and include reciepts from email. (I got a logistic company to fill out for the form for about $50)

the $200 or $300 ($1240 vs $920) saved will go a long way towards the installation cost

The cheapest i found including shipping was about $887-$911 (depending on exchange rate). But if Noone can get them from Sydney based distributor for $920, that would be a great deal, as it should come with warrantly right (providing that they are fitting by qualified mechanics)?

FYI in regards to import duties I just want to clarify for your all that the $1000 import cap does NOT include shipping. Its the value of the goods only. But having said that, if the value of the goods are over $1000AUS, they then add in shipping costs when they calulate the duty tax. Also the import duty tax is 20% on car parts not the usual 10% on everything else. Plus once they calculate the duty on top of the value of goods they then add in the shipping cost AND then 10% GST is added on top of all of that as well!

Also some overseas suppliers might be willing to "under value" the goods for the customs duty declaration. Just ask them. It worked for me when I imported some of these Bilsteins from the UK early last year when the exchange rate was very poor.

I might also like to add that since everything bought overseas will not carry a warranty, the intial savings of $200-300 might not be worth it further down the track if you need repairs done for a faulty shock. Something else to consider.
