New Polo - 2010 European COTY

Hot off the presses (well, keyboards actually), the new Polo has just been awarded the 2010 European Car of the Year award.

reason imma trade up is... welll..... gtd = 170ps and bunch more torque outta the box......

now. if vw would put the gtd engine in the polo..... i'd be a happier fapper.....

Just noticed this - looks like a DSG gearbox but why does it have a clutch pedal?

perhaps it has a footrest pedal for the accelerator much like on the clutch side. ie, for when using cruise control? because that far right pedal looks very far back and close to the console.

edit: it has same pattern as the pedals. so who knows.

I'm betting the marketing/PR people stuffed up the photoshop (or whatver they use) ie for different markets you could actually swap in the pic of a manual gear lever with lower console on a differnt layer in place of the DSG stick

Stereo front panel doesn't look like a 2DIN... rounded corners and trapezoidal shape. Means it'll be a pain to find an adaptor to fit an aftermarket HU too

Also in the photo it looks like it has seat heaters,which generally come with leather only.I think the shape of the audio unit is the same as most of the others fitted to the most recent VW vehicles.

The GOlf GTI comes with seat heaters as standard in the USA (with cloth trim)

Between April and June. But don't expect the new Polo GTI to be here for at least another year I think...
