  • Mk1 Audi TT / Mk IV Golf GTI Engine cover

Im thinking of either ditching the engine cover for my polo or replacing it with a Mk1 Audi TT or Golf Mk IV engine cover.

    1. Can this be done?

    2. Knowing a bit about the LS1 in a commondoor, Does the engine suffer slightly from heat soak with the cover on like the turtle shell did with the LS1?

I am thinking of something that will look different. If it doesnt fit am thinking of painting the '1.8', 'Turbo' and VW symbol

MK4 GTI and TT...No, have tried this with a friends MK4 cover, as I was going to get the Forge carbon fiber engine cover for the MK4 GTI.

I have run the engine with and without a cover, and noticed no difference.

Thanks for the heads up. Can you modify the Mk IV engine cover to fit?

Maybe if you took the MK4 mounts off the engine and transfered them to the Polo engine, other than that, the MK4 mounting points are completely different to the Polo.
