  • Wiper blade hits A-pillar

Bloody wiper blade hits the A-pillar now around town. Clunk clunk drives me crazy.. Like water torture. It used to only happen on the open road every now and then but has now got worse.

Anyone else had this develop ?

Yes I've had this problem. But it was only after I had my windscreen replaced, the first time I used the wipers it started happening. Did exactly as the others said.

So back to the above the windscreen was replaced, so the arms would have been off, and put back on a couple of teeth out

Mine was doing this too so I undid the nut on top of the wiper but the damn wiper just refused to budge from the bolt.

Is there a trick to getting it out, or pure brute force?

Yes there is a bit of a nack to getting them off, but fairly easly when youve done heaps, undo the nut and press on the arm where the spring part is, press up down on it a few times will free it from the splines

Yes the trick is to fight against the spring in the arm. They can be a PITA at the best of times.

What about the left/right handed part ? I remember they used to give guys heaps about that ... you need a left handed spanner for that
