Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Looks awesome, but
The Volkswagen Polo GTI Worthersee 09 is powered by a 1.4-liter MPI engine that produces 86 PS (63 kW).
    63kw??!

It's all show and no go from reading that article.

How they can justify, let alone why they would use the GTI tag is beyond my comprehension. It reminds me of when Holden had their GS Barina's in the early 90s which were the re-badged Suzuki Swifts (1.3L carby motor) and they had the Swift GTi seats/interior in them .... looked the part but no performance.

IMO this Polo is not even nice to look at with the stripes and I'm not a fan of the wheels.

But there's no GTI logo/embelm on it... and it is called "VW Polo Wörthersee '09 concept" - with no GTI in its name.

I think it's just a mistake in that article...

Yeah it's gotta be a mistake, I very much doubt VW would want to 'compromise' the GTI name.

Yea no way VW would tarnish the "GTI" label. GTI is all about performance which this definitely doesn't have.
            Current:
            2023 Mk2 Tiguan R - Lapiz Blue
            2015 Mk7 Golf R Wolfsburg - Limestone Grey: Stage 2
Gone but not forgotten: 2008 Polo GTI Shadow Blue

Dont mind the looks, the stripe will be of interest for a number of folks, just like with all those ford fiesta xr3's etc, i see a number of them on the streets.

I agree 63kw!!, its sporty for the grannies i guess.

Gimme the steering will dammit and put it in my 05 polo!!!!
