Sounds good guys interesting i am doing front and rear sways to keep the car balenced i get snap over steer with no rear sway bar. The golf MK4 is alot diferent in my opinion after having a MK4 with RSB the polos little bum tends to like to sit out some times, at the local race track my car was stepping out badly in the rear i am running standered springs an shox. I think front and rear is the go uprate both at once to maintain a good balance.

Something ain't right if you're getting snap oversteer on a Polo with no rear bar.Check your wheel alignment-a lot of Polo's have excessive rear toe-in,up to 9mm or so,according to Jim at Whiteline. If you fit a rear bar, you're increasing the tendency to oversteer,by reducing understeer. An upgraded front and rear bar won't improve the balance with a basic problem like the one you describe.I'm running hard shocks and springs, with the rear bar set hard, and it still understeers...
Timbo and I have both run standard suspension, and all we ever got was understeer.
There's got to be something fundamentally wrong ,in the alignment or tyre pressures or something to make it snap oversteer
Cheers

Agree with MACCAA. I asked about ESP because on a track, you do feel a bit of ESP intervention which pulls the tail around a bit, but there's absolutely no 'snap' associated with it, ESP on or off.

At what stage are you guys experiencing understeer ? Before or after the apex ? On or off the gas ?
At this stage I have only encountered a slight oversteer on turn in off throttle, and gentle understeer on exit depending on how hard you get on the gas.
From my drive time to date I have found the balance of the car to be fantastic, but I also believe I am using a different tyre to most of the people here which may contribute in a large way to this.

Same here. Nothing more than that, very slight oversteer. Compared from the GTi180 it wouldn't even be called oversteer!
I find the car really well balanced but without swaybar fitted, feels a little too "loose". A tiny bit bit more preciseness would be nice for me.

At normal road speeds, around town and even legally cruising, it is unlikely you'll find any major understeer from the Pog. Or oversteer, for that matter. In fact, if you see the ESP light flashing, it generally means you've been doing something illegal, immoral or both
But all that changes when you head to a track (which I urge everyone to do, at least once in your driving careers). There, you will discover the true dynamics of the car, and your ability to respond to them through steering, throttle or braking.
Then you will discover that if you arrive into a corner too fast, it will want to plough on, and if you try too much power too early out of the corner -- same thing ....understeer!
I guess if you accelerate then lift off just after the apex, the Pog will try to oversteer -- but it's never felt very strong to me.2015 White German SUV
