Were all F1 drivers in our own minds until we actually get beaten...

What I learned at my first track day was invaluable, once you've been in a car that can do great times, then you have a go and can't do the same, you have a lot more respect for the diligence it takes to shave all those 100'ths off your track time.

Beating your own best takes planning, driving harder often means slower times and more noise...

I think your gonna find it quite hard to hit the 13's with a ko3s . Its quite an achievement and testiment to driver ability .

it's not that hard to do,
with a bit of practice i'm sure it verry do-able.
it's also my goal to get under the 14sec with my polo with K03s still on it.
pretty sure i can make it

Kai's OFFICIAL 13.9 timeslip was uploaded in late 2007 early 2008. Did it with a chip, a few minor mods, semi-slicks and a great launch technique. As Sharkie said, still yet to be beaten in Australia.

With some of the mods being thrown around on the Polo's these days, I think the 13's is very much achievable. Seb is still question myself whether you've actually even seen a Polo GTI before, let alone driven one.

im thinking of taking the vw out again soon. Ive put my car nearly back too standard now bar a few minor things. Kinda over it. Ive still got a few 205 MT's to use off my mazda.. Once jimmy puts my clutch in ill go out for sure.

Ill put my frontmount and exhaust back on.

i don't question a momment about the time that Kai set with his polo.
specially when he was driving semi slicks!
i do think it's possible with road tires also but that would be much more difficult i guess.
so there is nobody else that made it under de 14 sec??? :-s

****s me when people say its just "so easy"

Go run consistent 8 second passes. Getting the car off the line with minimal wheelspin but on boost is all driver skill. Also gear changing. If you know how to do it your car will be much faster.

You'll go buy a heap of bolt on stuff and go race around a track and call yourself good. One person i have alot of respect for is eddy. Its very custom. He spends alot of time working on stuff to get it right. He isnt what id call a "bolt on racer"

still i think it's possible to get it under 14sec with street tires, but it will be a one time lucky shot i guess:-p

Best we ever ran with ours was a 14.0 on R compound tyres. Mind you, as a drag racer, I really suck. Something about my 60 foot times being close to 3 seconds they tell me

Thought we would honor our poor little Polo with a fresh thread: A list of the mods our little baby has had so far: APR K04, software flash, EMCS switching system (including race gas program) High flow transverse manifold Modified intake pipe (39% better flow) Billet steel flywheel & EVO ceramic clutch setup BMC CDA

i know that apr polo, followed it's topic a long time, wandered why you stopt updating the topic, diddn't know it was gone.
as i see yoyre updates on the polo, it should be alot faster than 14sec...
but as you say, driver does alot in a dragrace

If we could have made it a widebody and managed to get 235 or 245 tyres on the front, I'm sure we could have run way better times. It would spin the front wheels in the first 3 gears. Mind you, It was set up for the track so running lots of negative camber & stiffer rear suspension.

Quite the opposite to what you would like a drag car to be so I'm told
