  • 800k'm and the stereo install begins.

Hey guys started my stereo install today in my new polo gti.

For those who want to see my previous work look at www.limocoach.com.au
I did all the lighting and stereo in the bus. =) Also theres a new bus im wiring 7 amps 8 spits 4 6x9's 4 subs, a 50" and 32" tv ..aiming for 150db... nothing major =)

Any way the install consist of a kenwood flip out dvd with blue tooth and garmin gps add on.

a alpine 4 channel and mono block

a single 10" jlw3v2 (want to keep boot space)

2 sets of pioneer pro series kevlar splits.

Any way got the deck in today ( not happy it doesnt sit completly flat but s**t happens)

but now i have any air bag light ... any one know how to clear this ??

my mate has a scantek pro scanner is this the only way or can i take the battery terminals off for a few mins?

btw 1 week old and i love this car... been 5 years since ive had a turbo and dont know why it took so long for another one.

BTW ... PICS TO COME once ive finished tomorrow.

Sounds good mate. I'd be interested in some some pics of the install as I am embarking on a similar setup. Space is pretty much at a premium and I am interested in where you put the 2 amps? Looks hard enough to put just one decent sized amp in as there dosn't seem to be a lot of spots to put one.

i mounted 4 channel & mono alpines on the back of the rear seat in boot (far right) and have a 12" JL seated infront of them...pretty much cuts boot space in half but was defo worth it

I, on the other hand, have the amplifier installed inside the spare wheel and have a small 8" woofer taking up 1/5th of the boot.

Mark, I'd be worried why you have an airbag light in the first place if you haven't tampered with anything??

Havent touched the air bags at all .

Air bag light came on after i took acc from lighter.. and constant from the orignal deck.

Cant work out which fuse in the fuse box it is , thought i might check that first.

I went to see someone about getting my stereo in today

They said they were worried about the tweeters, as they are where the airbags are and said not much room in there

            Have you done tweeters yet?

Yeah replaced the front tweets on the pillars. Step 1, disconnect battery =) remove the airbag sign with a screw driver theres a screw behind it the slowly pull off the pillar. .. job done.. i also replaced the rear ones to .. there easy . stereos all in now just waiting to be turned up =)

Anyone tell me which is the airbag fuse??

You could have helped me with my one lol

I thought I knew what I was doing, but it is a lot harder on a new car. Dont want to pull things apart and break them etc
