  • Key switch illumination

Hi guys. Has anyone installed an additional lamp to momentarily light up the steering wheel ignition switch? I am constantly fumbling around in the dark, trying to find it.
I previously modified my Echo Sportivo with this lamp, and it was easy! But i dont think it'll be as straight forward with the Polo GTi.

I'm thinking i'll probably have to tap into the main roof illumination assembly, (as this already has the dimming feature when a door is opened) and feeding a pair of wires back down ito the steering column (somehow!).

Does anyone have a disassembly diagram of this roof illum ass'y? Any ideas or suggestions? If i can do this, i'll be happy to post photos and instructions on how to do it.

    Cheers,
