  • Insane Polo!!!

    Hi,

I came across this article the other day and wondered if anyone has heard of these tuners as I find it quite unrealistic to be able to get 202kw atw with out changing the turbo and internals.

    Cheers,

    Callen

damn... how does that even work?

from the pics the induction system is the stock air box removed and replaced with a pod and the normal trumpet feeding it cold air from the front.

whats the difference between a boost cooler and the intercooler?

I'd be a little worried as to how the tune gets that sort of power.

Beating Modded M3's on the quarter? Maybe a really old one, but I would be extremely impressed if you could take a stock new one unless you had a bigass turbo and then traction would still be tricky...

That water-meth injector looks like a cool toy, 500 euro's, bargain! someone should get this...

Just on Eibach springs, hasn't gone for coils or new shocks? interesting...

im a lil sceptical , hes got the base k03s turbo charger , how the hell did he get those numbers? don't care if he strapped a freezer to front of his car im highly suspect, surely there's more done then that. and flat 13 quaters?.... theres quite a few guys here with most of those mods and getting no where near that hp or times.

          I'd like to know.....

"Upsolute Racing Stage 4 Software" it seems the gains are from there looking at the mods.

Aquamist is, I assume a waterjet spray onto the intercooler giving added cooling to incoming air.

Im a bit skeptical, I'd like to see graphs for this car.
I think more like 200kw at the fly...

They also mention there using 102.6 octane race fuel which helps!

The race fuel definately helps ALOT!!!!!!!

It doesn't surprise me that he's getting 202kW at the hubs but at the wheels this will equate to much less (probably in the vacinity of 185ish).

In my searches before deciding to get rid of the pog I found many overseas tuners that got big numbers out of the Pog's whilst maintaining the standard turbo.

At a previous dyno day (QLD I think) someone got 160+ at the wheels with the standard turbo but other supporting mods.
              Cheers,

              John

That was probably Shaneth with 169.5 HP at the wheels, not KW.

Aquamist goes in the inlet charge, not on to the IC.

                220kw at the crank is 300 hp, a big number on a K04 let alone a K03s.

I didnt read it. But if it said it has water injection. That would be the key too all the power. I know with rotors we use water injection. That stuff is very awesome. Gives 100hp gains by just spraying water in.

seriosuly why hasn't water injection come up before the most expensive kit from that snow performace is just under $700 US for that gain it seems pretty worth while.... I'm guessing there is some legal issues involved?

Nah we run it all the time. Its legal..

If you run water injection it would require a custom tune id say. Thats probably why no one has done it.

The thing with water injection prices too is the pot price. If you buy the cheap pot it wont flow water into the motor when you corner. If you go the more expensive option it will. So make sure you look out for that too.

We get out kits for about $550

I use too make 480 on pump fuel 18psi and now make 586hp on abit more boost with water.

Water injection allows you too run alot more boost bassicly and not raise the temps. But i dunno how much more boost you are going to be able too get out of a k03s....

I'd clarify that it wasn't with a Polo before someone posts a Veyron picture.

don't worry I don't think preen botheres to read the polo section anymore.

water injections sounds like a good idea think it's one to put on the list.... though who does custom tunes for polos in aus though?

Custom-Code might be able to help you out there. Thing with using water injection and the std ECU, is being able to cope with the water tank running out while you are on the gas.

If you are running loads of boost and have timing a fuelling set to cope with the water and then it suddenly goes. There's a good chance of damage happening.

This would be easy to do with a standalone ECU as you can pick one with the right features.
