Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. • Need halp about extened warranty guys!

Hi guys, my polo git will run out warranty by end of this year.

And the car done 32000km so far.

Should I extened warranty for another 2 years?

    How about u guys?

    thanks a lot

I think that extended warranty is offered by your dealer, not by VW. That means if you move, you may not be able to get your warranty continued by other dealerships.

Once they are the ones paying, they may try harder to get out of any claims.

    Do you have any mods?

Have you had any issues to date?

Some people like the piece of mind, some hate having to have it serviced every 6 months and pay dealer fees when there is nothing wrong with it.

mine is now fairly worked, so not much point keeping it under maintenance as they will no doubt deny my claims as I've modified it...

read the terms and conditions carefully. i got mine free from the dealer and it states turbo cars must have an oil change every 3 months (ie. not worth it).

Please don't confuse "dealer-specific" extended warranties with the official (Australia-wide) VWA extended warranty. Many people here think the VWA one is OK (just one replacement aircon will make it worth having).

There are a number of threads on here about extended warranty (including cheaper places to buy it), gather all the info and make up your own mind (and read the fine print about what is NOT covered eg roadside assist before paying over your $$$).

Any existing issues noted on the cars history that fail when your warranty finishes, should still be looked after by VW... However, new ones won't be!!

am considering this for my polo gti also after just having the gearbox rebuilt and the power steering pump replaced all under warranty... would hate to think what the gearbox rebuild would've been if i had to pay.
