Battery tray is sold and I'm also after a third brake light from a Polo Match or TDI 9n/9n3 (not the GTI)

Update time! But first sorry Jase, didn't phone you back last night. And Sam I'll drop that battery tray to you this week
Ok for ages I've been wanting to sort out a different battery tray/box solution. Thought about relocating to the boot but thought it was too much work in the end and adding all the extra weight from the cabling sort of defeats the purpose of the lightweight battery also. And I'm putting the Devil on even more of a diet very soon.
So big thanks to Greg from Carformance for putting together an aluminum tray with oem mounting points for me. Seen on the left
On the right is a bracket made for a Braille battery which happens to be the same size as the DEKA I have. The custom tray needed some trimming with a hacksaw to make room for my cold air intake and gave them both a quick spray (might get them powder coated later as I did a ****ty job it)
And the final product
Only problem now is finding a place for the massive 42DD ultimate catch can. I'm thinking of swapping it for a stealth version they have and mounting it under the CAI barrel somewhere.
Coming up later this coming are some big ticket items
Also quick review from the last weeks outing to Lakeside. So all three under braces are on plus the rear sway is set on hard from medium - thanks Gav for the hand! Had the most fun to date with it. It's super stiff and sturdy in the real high speed stuff like the kink at the end of the straight. The poly bushes are brilliant especially noticeable at a track like Lakeside because of all the different elevations, undulations and on/off camber situations. So felt like I had so much grip for a FWD and still on street tyres. I think with the antilift bushes it's probably the closest feeling to having a LSD you can have without having an LSD. Hardly any wheel spin at all in the tight stuff. I highly recommend them for street also. This is definitely the best set up so far with both sways on hard complementing the rigidity of all the upper and lower bracing. My only complaint is under very hard braking at the end of the front and rear straights the rear gets very light and squirly with no rear seats and spare wheel even with the bigger brakes on the rear. A good 50 plus kg weight reduction in a little hatch is easily felt at those speeds but I have a solution on the way

Yeah I get plenty of inspiration from your build, but when I actually sit down, plan the parts then stare at the car for hours to figure out what you've done and how you've done it I end up with a headache and realise I'm totally out of my depthKeep it up mate you're building a one of a kind there!

Good stuff Ant
Can you do us a favor and take note of how the rear wing attaches if you have it off soon..?
I'm hoping I can rig something for track days to angle the stock wing up for even a little bit more downforce.. It scared the poo out of me when the rear end crabbed around hitting the kink a few clicks over 170, way too light
Any plans for a smoothed underbelly or rear diffuser to try and smooth the air out? You can really feel the rear end come loose braking at the end of the straight hey...

Yeah mate, some scary moments for sure lol!!
No worries I'll take some photos of removing the OEM wing off for you. From the ETKA pdf's I got from Gav it seems it's just glued on actually. I took the trim out of the hatch to have a look and there are three screws that seem to hold the light in but that's it. You can use it to model a completely new one if you want?
Yes getting some more aero goodies soon

Here is a great link regarding aero and especially lift. Explains why the Polo get loose in back.
Improving aerodynamics with aftermarket parts
The MK 5 Golf GTI and Polo chassis design are identical so the wind tunnel testing is very relevant to us. As you can see the 3 door Golf has minimal lift in the front with 2kg but the rear has buckets at 37kg. So after you strip the rear of the Polo on top of that, that's when you get those holy faaarrrrrk moments at Lakeside!
Check out the RS Focus, very well set up from factory! Anyway enjoy the read, some brilliant info there
