absolutely i know!!! but the power loss from the powergain of the freer flowing exhaust would be negligable woudnt it

As I said, I'm a real skeptic on exhausts. To get any gain at all you have to replace all the way through, and then you risk the dealer hassling about warranty, because the exhaust/cat replacement is always so obvious. My personal view: not worth the hassle or the money

3 inch is way too overkill... in my opinion (and im no expert) 2.5 inch is enough. also how can you void your warranty just by changing your exhaust? i have no idea how? scenario: you keep your car stock until 3 years down the track when you get a hole in your dump pipe (highly unlikely i know), cat converter, or muffler. what are you going to do? go to VW and say i need a new exhaut and pay through the roof for a standard item? i think they would tell you to go and get it done at a exhaust shop... just my 2 c

From my understanding - if you were to fit a full exhaust system, and your gearbox failed on you, the mechs would probably blame it on the exhaust because of the extra "gains" you made on your car that caused the problem.

Therefore this puts off most people from chucking on an exhaust during their warranty period.

Of course this is just a hypothetical view; it may not be like that.

                    Nope,

I kinda like it low down.

But when it gets up to 4500+ it turns a tad weird. (like a big gush of air)

I really dont know how to explain it or if its meant to be there. But i shall take it back to them another day.

3 inch dump pipe is ideal for our car works well with a KO3 and KO4 setup and either a 2.5 cat back if u want more torque or 3 inch if u want to get most out of the top end but sacrifice ur bottom end.

If u dont mind spending more get the 2 3/4 inch catback done as u get a bit of both still carry torque but dont lose too much of your bottom end but get a majority of peak power and it can handle a K04 upgrade aswell.

Vieussuex have you had an exhaust done? if so, is there much gains to be had? because judging by Guy's review it doesn't do much...

I would really like to improve my topend

There isnt alot to gain out of a exhaust maybe 5kw or sumthing like that but from memory Guy only had a 2.5inch dump on his.
Thats got to be the most important part and he has a ko4 i cant understand why he didnt go 3 inch dump.

Does anyone no if Guy did test a 3 inch dump to see if there was a comparitive difference compared to the 2.5inch he has??

Anyway its going to be hard to gain much more out of the top end due to the k03 dying out at high revs anyway.

In about early Feb ill be getting a 3 inch dump and 2.5 catback so ill tell u how it goes.
