Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Agreed, although I couldn't be bothered to think about how it could be made better, so I'll take the good with the pretty good.

Piccies up on AUSmotive now too. Follow the link and click on each one to load a 2000px version. Otherwise just admire the four sample images below.

              Looks pretty cool I reckon.

Like others have said, I love the front styling, however, the back looks like someone else sat down and designed it !

I can't work it out, but something just doesn't look right with the way the rear is designed ..... it looks "generic" like a Toyota Corolla, Yarris, etc

Haha, I was thinking the same thing, cover the nose in the top photo and it's a yaris!

Overall it's quite nice though. I think it must be hard to make the proportions of the rear end look nice on a light car. Ford fiesta has a nice bum but most cars in the class are lacking that particular area.

Anyone know how much bigger the new model is compared to the current shape?

Photos make it look like chunky, like its moved up a half a class in size.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting

It looks better proportioned than current Mk4 Polo with wider tracks. It hinting that upcoming Polo GTI will be a cracking car! And I love the colour!

i think i know what the issue is with the rear. it looks like a face with eyes set too far apart and the pupils are crossed.

The Polo Mark V is 36 mm longer and 32 mm wider and sits 13 mm lower to the road than the previous generation Polo. Boot capacity is increased by 10 litres to 280 litres of storage space with 952 litres with the seats folded down.
