  • Buying tires in the Illawara?

I am looking around the Wollongong area for some tires. I am new to the Polo, and Australia as a matter of fact, and I am wondering if these prices are reasonable.

    CC2's 278/corner

    Potenza RE001 231/corner

    Preceda PP2 265/corner

    g-Force Sport 252/corner

Seems high, but maybe just an import issue? Any advice on a reputable place that I can find them cheaper?

My 2006 GTI will stay stock and is only used on the street, if anyone has any better tire options please let me know.

    G'day,

I'm a bit further down South than Wollongong in Nowra.
I got my tyres/rims at Tempe Tyres
Tempe Tyres is a one stop solution for tyres and wheels. Stocking Bridgestone tyres, Continental tyres, Cooper tyres, Michelin tyres, Pirelli tyres and many more. Check out the range of packages we have to suit various makes and models.

When I was looking no-one was competitive in the area and the cheapest place I found was them. About an hour drive for you, nearly 1:45hr for me but the price difference was worth it.

If you're looking to buy in the area and don't want to travel, Jax tyres I think are pretty reasonable. They're in Warilla.

Not sure about individual pricing on those tyres you listed.

      What's a G-Force Sport?

Try searching the forums - a few threads on tyres & prices.

What size is the Polo tyre?

Option1 garage in QLD are doing some great prices these days on Kumhos. Check this thread & give Emma an email for a recommendation, price, etc. Allow $20 a tyre for fitting & balancing somewhere local to you.

I would have thought there were heaps of discount tyre places around The Gong
