  • Pod filter installed

Have my pod filter installed, got a cold intake duct from the factory front grill to the pod, impression:

    1. More "blow off" sound when back off the throttle.
    2. Engine feel less peaky, hence more smooth (cant tell is that because the lost of low down torque that make you feel the engine pull smoother)
    3. 2-3 degree higher in intake temp
    4. When full throttle accelartion, intake temp goes from 30 odd to 60 odd degree... ( i guess this is bad...), back to 30 odd once back to cruising speed....

How are you getting the temperature measurements ? VAGCOM or VChecker ?

Is the airflow limited to the air coming in from the front duct?

Are you using the stock duct or the Seat upgrade part?

          Pics please

Air intake temp is measured by scan gauage, i think it is from the MAF sensor... (correct me if i m wrong, i am really guessing here)

I remove my seat intake and the big bore plastic pipe and replaced it with a 3" duct point to the pod.

I wll try to post the pic up tomorrow!

I am pretty sure this set up gives you less air...

My plan next is get a smaller battery and design a better ducting, currently looking to run a pipe straight from the grill!

Im currently testing the whole cut in the bottom of the airbox. Seems too be working quite good and makes the engine bay look stock.

Only restriction is between the maf and airbox lid. Pretty small pipe sadly.

When i say cut. I litterally hacksawed the bottom half of the airbox off..

Agreed! By before that you need to ensure you can get more air from some where before making the pipe bigger, if not it is not use with a bigger pipe but same amount of air... (I think... )

I think your approach is the best.. I did the same but I only chopped away a small section and fitted up the standard intake snorkel so its feeding air from under the car.

My Pod is in my airbox as well, using a silicone hose from MAF with a 90 degrees bend and short section of pipe. I think it works a treat.

Did you cut a 2.75inch hole in the lid and run a 90degree bend inside the box. Or did you attach it too inside the airbox and still got that 2.5inch bit inside the lid to flow through.

I have not modded the lid as yet. Wanted to keep it in case I want to return to stock.

I have fabricated my own top of airbox with piece of aluminium. Cut a hole for Pipe to run through and bolted it into the standard holes. Pod is 99% blocked into the airbox. So is feeding air from SEAT intake and underneath car.

Mine looks completely standard minus turbo inlet pipe and throttle body hose..
Put it on a hoist and you'll notice whats different.
