  • Eibach Springs Installed - Price?

Wilkinson Suspension (Bayswater, Perth) just quoted me $945 installed for Eibach springs

Anyone had this done? How much did you pay? Especially interested in Perth options

What about buying the springs myself...is there a local (AUS) distributor i can obtain them from then just pay for fittment?

Any usefull advice would be appreciated!

    Cheers in advance

Is that just for the springs + install? Or is that shocks as well.

If just for springs I's have to say that is way too expensive. But if shockies are included, seems to be a very good price.

Best to find out what the breakdown is for that (what they are charging for the springs and labour). What sort of drop do you get from those?

Springs are half the story, best option is for coilovers (spring and shock combo).

On saying that, I've got the H&R springs with stock shocks. Ride is lower, tighter, but can be a little 'bouncy' at higher speeds.

Fitting would be ballpark of $200 - $500.

Don't know Eibach, so won't comment on them, only know the H&R's have been a reasonably popular item on this forum for a budget spring set (and a nice 25mm ish drop).

GTI Dave can assist you with pricing on H&R's / Bilsten, otherwise Rennenhaus or one of the other importers can assist you with pricing on other brands.

Depends what you want from it, if you are looking for improved cornering, I'd start with a rear sway bar as its cheaper and probably a better track-time improvement compared to springs and stock shocks.

If you have the money, some KW coilovers, front and rear sways, front and rear strut braces would do wonders.

Personally I pick a budget and work from there.

Labour shouldn't be any more than 3 hours. Thats how long it took me to do them by myself, and that was the first time I had fitted springs to any car. I think that prive is very steep, but I think, like the others have said, that you need to get a price break down.

however it is perth, and anything other than a commonwhore or a falcon seems to cost an arm and a leg.

Yeah that price doesn't supprise me. I had a quote from Wa suspension for supply & fit the H&R 35mm springs and that was around $850 earlier this year. I was also quoted close to $4K for Eibach coilovers so you can see how much a premium you pay when buying from a retailer.

Having said that I would highly recommend the H&R 35mm springs from orangetuning in Germany. Should be about $350max landed in Australia & then go to someone like Pedders and have them installed. You will save yourself a bundle!

I got my H&R springs landed for about $300 (in a group buy of 3 keeping it under $1,000) and got a mate to fit them for a carton of booze . Worked out cheaper than getting cheapo King Springs fitted from a local jobby. p.s. they don't make kingy's for our car.

thanks everyone for the comments...it has answered my questions and fears!

Im going to source some through Dave and then get Pedders to fit me thinks - should save me a few hundred dollars.

Wilkinson worked out to but 300 labour...so thats a pretty expensive H&R kit for a claimed 40mm drop at the back, 35mm at the front (or it could have been the other way round)

                      Dave...il be in touch!

Last Saturday, my friend and I managed to test both H&R spring & ABT spring on the track. We came to a conclusion that ABT works better on the track (stiffer than H&R) while H&R provides more compliant ride.
