Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Forge front strut...

    Hi guys,

Where is the best place to get Forge front strut from?

Directly from Forge UK? or anyone in Aus who would ship it to NZ?

    Thanks!

Gti Dave can source Forge parts as well.
I have found him most helpful

Below is a link to his profile so you can send him a pm with your request if you like.

Ian from Rennenhaus is on here as a forum sponsor. He is a Forge importer. Look in the Forum Sponsors section.

            funny this should come up.

I'm in the process of getting one, if there are a few of us who are interested, cost comes down.

            Anyone else want in?

I've contacted David about this. He is going to quote me. Group buy maybe cheaper for Australian folks, but for me, maybe same or more as shipping is where you save $$.

Try organising a group buy for you guys!

Mike, Shaneth has done a very helpfull step-by-step instruction of the process which is available here

Looks pretty basic, but I'll still get my mechanic to do it for me...

Forge has install instructions on their website and is just a simple matter of undoing all 6 bolts, adjust the screw/dial in the middle of the strut bar to ensure correct length, put it in place so each hole of the strut brace is directly over the bolt holes on the strut tops and then bolting everything back on. Simple as that.
